GA Martinez-Evans Little League wins tournament opener VS TN Smith County Little League

 

Saturday was a long day for TN Smith County Little League, falling to GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage 8-2.

TN Smith County Little League fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cody Williams doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the top of the third inning, GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage tied things up at one when Trevor Creagan singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Antwuan Rolling singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Creagan homered on a 3-1 count, scoring four runs.

Brian Peel pitched GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage to victory. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out two. Cole Corcoran and Camrin Dunbar entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Dunbar recorded the last out to earn the save for GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage.

Williams took the loss for TN Smith County Little League. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out one.

Cody Antoniak started the game for TN Smith County Little League. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one

TN Smith County Little League smacked one home run on the day. Williams had a homer in the fourth inning.

Williams led TN Smith County Little League with two hits in three at bats.

GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage scattered nine hits in the game. Joshua MeltonRolling, and Creagan all had multiple hits for GA Martinez-Evans Little Leage.
